For my various projects, I often have to design logos. At least enough to be able to make an entire gallery out of them XD I like designing logos, it’s all about putting the most amount of relevant info in a single attractive image. I made logos with various softwares, from Piskel to Aseprite, Krita and now by favorite is Inkscape.
My own logo evolution over the years. Fun fact : the design was originally made as a Minecraft banner ! I made the first one when I just started pixel art, which explain why it’s not very good. As my skill improved, I thought I couldn’t keep that as my logo and I remade it.
Wonderer has a lot of diegetic logos, being set in a futuristic world, it features a lot of in-world brands. I’m the one making the designs, but my teammate Serendin is the page artist, so these are just my concept arts and it might change down the line. But let’s start with the actual graphic novel logo :
The pink W is actually a 90° rotation of Lili (the main character)’s lightning bolt hair strand when she’s in the Wonderverse.
The pink-lightblue color aberration gives a sci-fi vibe and an opposition between those colors, which are the colors of Lili and Karen (the antagonist)
The purple blue is commonly associated with the thematic of dreams
Each letter has a motif relevant to the story
Both E have a puzzle piece shape, which is relevant to the story’s antagonist and theme
The D is merged with a DNA, which is one of the story’s core motif and theme.
The version with background features the shape of the SnowflaKe Logo on the left and Lili on the right, with a veil of dreams coming out of her.
The logo represents a snowflake, with an emphasis on the K of their president, Karen. While not my original intention, the little subbranches being present on the left but not on the right can represent the removal of imperfections in the quest for perfection.
Version for dark backgrounds
I-Cares is the main corporation present in Wonderer. They’re in the tech industry and created the Wonderverse, fueled by the users’ thoughts. DMON-INC is part of Wonderer’s extended universe, but won’t be seen in the actual story.
The I-Cares logo is the i with the cyborg wing, we rarely see the full title logo. The i represents Icarus, who was my inspiration for the company name.
The cyborg and the natural wing represent the alliance of tech and nature, and the i ‘s dot is highlighted to denote the importance of the mind.
Noone knows what DMON-INC does.
The symbol is a devil-in-a-box toy.
Hidden. Waiting to jump on you.
The devil is relevant to the character behind it.
